Originally from Michigan, Commander Moon moved to San Francisco in 1991. He started playing the piano at the age of 7. Commander Moon didn't have many friends as a child and without the distraction of playing with other kids his skills on the piano increased rapidly. He pursued his music education all the way through college receiving a BA in music composition and piano from the University of Michigan. Even to this day Commander Moon likes to practice at least 10 hours a day, this largely due to the fact that Commander Moon loves "Red Bull." Commander Moon moved to S.F. and formed Horsey a once popular, loud band in which he played guitar. Horsey released two records on Invisible records and toured the U.S. extensively. After Horsey collapsed, he returned to his piano roots and has been working professionally ever since. He has performed as a solo pianist and in jazz and classical groups and has worked extensively in the theater. He seems to have made friends, at least a few. Commander Moon joined Tainted Love in June of 1999. Now that he has gotten his excesive sweating under control the future looks bright.
